Canon ITS Japan Signs Multi Million Dollar Deal with NetBox Blue

International IT industry heavyweight, Canon ITS Japan has signed a multi-million dollar Master Distribution Agreement with Australian internet and email security and management provider NetBox Blue.

NetBox Blue will be supplying Canon with up to 500 email filtering appliances a month, in a deal that represents a major milestone in the company’s international expansion plans.

The SpamChecker ™ appliance, as it will be known in Japan, is a simple to use email filtering and content control solution. The drop in appliance is the result of nine months of co-development between NetBox Blue and Canon ITS Japan and is specifically designed to suit the SME market in Japan. Canon already supplies 50% of all IT solutions to this market in Japan.

Research by Canon ITS Japan indicates that the market for mail filtering appliances is likely to triple in the next four years, providing significant opportunities for the distribution of the SpamChecker appliance.

NetBox Blue has developed a unique email filtering product for us in Japan and we are very happy with the development of this solution and the professionalism of the team,” Canon IT Solutions Vice President, Kiyotaka Inada says. “We expect the solution to be a big success in Japan and we are looking forward to building a very strong business partnership with NetBox Blue."

NetBox Blue Chairman John Fison has heralded the relationship with Canon as a cornerstone in the company’s growth strategy.

“We are very excited to be working with such a global innovator as Canon ITS Japan. It represents a massive opportunity for NetBox Blue to distribute products across Asia and extend our reach in the region,” Mr Fison says.

NetBox Blue has been developing internet and email security solutions for the SME market for the past ten years and is in a good position to take advantage of the strong growth in the sector worldwide.

“We’re not just hastily throwing together a package or retro-fitting a complex Enterprise solution and hoping it fits the SME market. We understand this sector’s needs and we have developed products to suit it,” Mr Fison says.

The SpamChecker is expected to be the first of many NetBox Blue products headed for the Japanese market. The company is currently working on a Unified Threat Management appliance for Canon.

NetBox Blue has implementations in 15 countries worldwide and is now developing distribution channels with Canon and others in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.
