Netbox Blue offers satellite communication users a revolutionary solution that delivers optimized communication capabilities, transparency, controls and cost savings.

The Netbox Blue solution puts users in total control of their satellite communication links and prevents unwanted or inappropriate use of the link, preserving bandwidth for priority applications and controlling costs.

Netbox Blue also offers its unique PipePlus® link aggregation and failover technology to ensure satellite users seamlessly failover to the least expensive communication link available without any user intervention. This can integrate with 3G, V-SAT, inmarsat and any other available internet link. This technology can integrate up to 16 separate internet links enabling multiple 3G cards to be used when in range for inexpensive high speed internet access.

Netbox Blue's Satellite Communications Optimizer (SCO) is being used by marine and land based users across the world. it is the first technology to integrate advanced spam filtering technologies (that block spam before it uses the satellite bandwidth) with link failover technologies, a full security, reporting and policy enforcement engine that delivers the most advanced and effective solution for satellite users.

The Satellite Communications Optimizer offers many advanced features:

	Advanced spam filtering	Prevent spam from being downloaded over the satellite link through pre-delivery filtering technology.
	Web filtering	Control access to particular sites or categories of sites. This can be set up with different rules for different days, or users, giving total flexibility.
	Data quota manager	Set limits on upload or download use by group of users. Limits can also be set by period of time and this can link with billing engines.
	Data compression	For users with multiple satellite sites the Netbox technology offers data compression between sites to enhance bandwidth usage and to save costs.
	Web acceleration	Web and DNS caching technology deliver maximum performance for web access with minimal bandwidth utilization.
	Application accelerator	The SCO technology includes application prioritization tools to enable appropriate bandwidth to be allocated to critical services  e.g. voice.
	PipePlus® - least cost link usage	Seamless and transparent migration to the least cost link (inmarsat, V-SAT, 3G, etc.) with unique policy management by link and support for load balancing.
	Web 2.0 Application Manager	Full control over Web 2.0 applications such as BitTorrent, instant Messaging, webmail, gaming, etc. Enables visibility of use and policy management to prevent, limit or control use of these applications.
	Email manager	Control the size of files attached to emails (sent or received) as well as full control over data leakage, inappropriate language use and harassment.

	Reporting	Full visibility and alarm settings for all use of the internet links with historic and real time views. Full drill down capabilities as well as customizable reports that can be generated as often as required.
	Firewall	Total security firewall for the ultimate security of data and privacy.
	Advanced threat management	Full anti virus capabilities on all traffic (email, HTTP and file transfers) together with prevention of Denial of Service attacks and also internal zombie or spambot attacks.
	Email hosting	The Netbox solution can also be used to host email, preventing the need for complex email server solutions.

The Netbox Blue Satellite Communications Optimizer can also be used in conjunction with Expand Networks TCP acceleration, post acceleration packet aggregation and Wide Area File Service (WAFS) technologies.

The solutions are delivered in a range of deployment options. The technology is available on the Netbox mini appliance for lower end users and on iBM hardware platforms for larger users (greater than 30 connections typically) or for customers requiring highly resilient hardware platforms with global support from iBM.

The solutions are also delivered by some satellite communication providers as a managed service as part of the satellite delivery service, requiring no on-site hardware for lower end users. Customers can also run the technology as a software application running virtually in a VMware environment.
